Baker Skateboards

Baker

Baker boards are available in the classic OG shape (for faster responsiveness, with Steep or Mellow Concave) and as B2 Squared Nose and Tail Shape (for more board feeling, only in Steep Concave). Generator Distribution produces the skateboard decks for Baker. They have factories in both the USA and Mexico. The decks are durable. They come in different sizes and styles so you can find the perfect board for your needs. Whether you're just skating around the block, street, ramp or skatepark, Baker boards are always a good choice. Made from 7-ply maple wood, Baker skateboard decks are tough enough to withstand even the toughest riding style. They are available in a variety of designs and feature unique graphics such as skeletons, skulls, dogs and their most iconic design: the BAKER brand name as a logo deck. Mostly very simple in red, white and black. Simple, but with an extremely high recognition value among skateboarders worldwide.

Andrew Reynolds tried to find a new name for his skateboards and came up with Baker. The company got its name from the effects of intoxication on the boards, they are called Baker Skateboards because you "bake" your board tricks.

Andrew Reynolds X Baker

Andrew Reynolds (born June 6, 1978) is an American professional skateboarder who founded the company Baker Skateboards together with artist Jay Strickland in 2000. Today he is the sole owner of Baker Skateboards. From the very beginning, Baker worked together with Blitz, the distribution company founded by Hawk. In 2007, however, Reynolds and fellow pros Jim Greco and Erik Ellington founded the North Hollywood-based company Bakerboys Distribution, which now distributes Baker Skateboards as well as Happy Hour Shades, Deathwish Skateboards, Palace Skateboards, Hammers, Death Lens, Illegal Civilization, Ashbury, ABC Hat Co, Birdhouse Skateboards, Call Me 917, Gnarhunters, Shake Junt, Brigada Sunglasses, Heroin and Volume 4, all brands associated with former or current Baker riders or employees.

Baker Skateboards: the complete videography.

The Baker Skateboards video series is a collection of timeless and iconic skate stunts that have shaped skating and its unique culture. From the first to the latest Baker video, a lot has changed. Movies have evolved from classic VHS tapes and DVDs to the all-digital streaming era in less than two decades. The world has changed, and skateboarding has evolved too. Many of today's skate stars grew up watching their idols' video parts in Baker video productions. The idiosyncratic collection of hardcore, eccentric and rebellious material released by Baker would not be what it is today without the founding duo. Andrew Reynolds and Jay Strickland have created a legendary skateboard video series that will continue to inspire generations. Reynolds started skateboarding at the age of nine in his hometown of Lakeland, Florida. When he was still a teenager, he received a call from Tony Hawk asking him if he wanted to ride for Birdhouse. After the call, Reynolds moved to California to film for the iconic video "The End", a feature-length skateboard movie in which he performs a perfect, buttery smooth kickflip noseblunt. The video catapults him to fame. Andrew Reynolds wins the title "Skater of the Year" and makes it onto the front pages of several skate magazines.

Jay and Andrew met while filming the iconic video "The End" and became good friends. After "The End", Strickland wanted to show uncut footage and behind-the-scenes clips of the Birdhouse video that had not yet been released. So Jay and Reynolds edited the uncut raw footage and B Rolls to create the legendary "Baker Bootleg", which also became a brand. The video features footage they shot for their sponsors and pranks in downtown Los Angeles. The video was a hit and became an instant classic. In 2000, the duo teamed up and launched "Baker 2G", another very successful movie with many pranks. Immediately afterwards, several skaters left their sponsors and joined Baker Bootleg. The new skate brand was the place to go for everyone, a place where everyone felt at home and you could experience true friendship and camaraderie. "Baker is very honest, that's how we are," Andrew Reynolds once said. In the meantime, Ryan Ewing becomes Baker's official filmmaker, and Reynolds and Strickland part ways. During this time, Jay continues with Bootleg Skateboard Co. and Andrew takes over Baker Skateboards. The original Baker duo has disbanded, but the seeds for the Baker DNA have already sprouted and grown on the concrete.
