Bear trucks

Every detail in a Bear Truck has been specifically designed to give you the best possible trucks. It takes a lot of work to create a solid set of skateboard trucks. Every truck we design goes through a rigorous testing process in our in-house design lab. We do our best to break the trucks, stress test them, and analyze the metals on every production run. All of this is done before our team drives them in the real world. The result is a strong, purpose-built Bear truck that feels amazing. Bear develops trucks for carving, cruising, street, downhill and racing.

When you have a background in racing, you really start to think about how you can refine a product and optimize its performance. Just because something is good enough doesn't mean we're happy with it. We're willing to invest the extra time in research and development to find ways to improve the performance of your skateboard truck.

We founded Bear Trucks around 2004 for various reasons. Mainly, the equipment at the time was not up to the new style of freeriding and speedboarding that our team was practicing. High speed drifting on big wheels created forces that could bend hangers and break baseplates. Strength and quality were not the only problems. To keep up with the new riding styles, the axles also had to offer precise steering and first-class stability.

We started with two models: the CNC machined aluminum Precision Smokie for downhill racing and the Grizzly for freeride, carving and cruising. Both featured stronger 10 mm axle pins and covered suspensions that were a big leap forward for the industry. The Smokies, our high-end precision trucks, were constantly evolving. Our team and engineers tried wild new designs and used what they learned to improve every production run. Team riders like Kyle Martin helped update the design of the next generation Precision Truck and make it more universal for professional freeriding and speedboard racing. This version was named the Precision Grizzly.

Bear CNC trucks

Bearing the iconic Smokey name, the latest trucks combine our years of experience developing some of the fastest trucks in the game with slalom-influenced geometry to provide the grip and agility that modern DH skating demands. 120mm hangars with 50/20 degree baseplates provide incredible grip in the turns and remain stable and composed at high speeds.

Precision trucks are the ultimate in high performance riding, they make all the difference, but so much machine time doesn't come cheap. Their cost was somewhat prohibitive for new riders, making it difficult for people to have the highest level of equipment on any board in their quiver. We wanted to build a downhill truck with the strength of a precision truck, but be more affordable for skaters. This led Bear Trucks to develop Kodiak; the first fully forged downhill/freeride trucks on the market. Lighter and stronger, with all the function and precise fit and finish of Precision Trucks, the Kodiak's set the bar for quality in craftsmanship and performance.

Bear Grizzly trucks

The Grizzlies followed a very similar path: constant development and testing that led to innovative production and design improvements. Whether bombing hills or cruising the beach, the same attention to detail ensures that the rider has a better riding experience. Rollers should fit tight, less slippage = more fun. To achieve a tight fit, you need to spend more money on precision sized axles and shrouded suspensions - these are the things we've done from day one. Finally, we incorporated spacers into our Spaceballs ball bearings to make the fit even better and easier by eliminating loose spacers and shims. Today we're at Grizzly Gen 6, and with each series we've improved the fit of the bushings, the strength-to-weight ratio and the look.

Bear Polar trucks

Our newest truck line is the Polar Bears. Landyachtz has always offered boards with a traditional truck for city and bowl skating. Our finished boards were often too high, felt like they didn't carve super hard and the trucks would bend instantly when set up with the available trucks. We set out to develop a line that was lighter, more stable, had a lower ride height and a harder carving geometry. The resulting truck line allowed us to redefine how cruisers and mini-cruisers ride. Better performance at a better price has helped make the Dinghy and Tug Boat some of the most popular cruiser skateboards in the world. Always striving for improvement, we have released a titanium axle version of the Polar Bear 105 with a hollow steering knuckle that further reduces weight and increases strength. The Titanium Polar Bear is available on our Turbo Dinghy. If you want the fastest cruiser, look no further.

Bear Grizzly Gen 6 TI pro

  • The ultimate performance version of our Gen 6 cast trucks.
  • The Gen 6 Ti Pro features titanium axle pins and hollow kingpins.
  • Lightest performance cast truck ever.

We've removed excess material where possible to reduce weight even further to create a super strong truck that weighs less than the already featherweight Gen 6, offering more responsiveness and easier acceleration when pushing, as well as extra pop for freestyle tricks.
