Bing Surfboards History
Bing Copeland started surfing in 1949 at the age of 13 at the Manhattan Beach Pier. Bing opened his first surf shop in the fall of 1959 with his friend Rick Stoner and became one of the most important surfboard manufacturers of the sixties and early seventies. At one point, the factory produced up to 40 surfboards per day. In addition to his team building the boards, Bing also had a star-studded team of riders including David Nuuhiwa, Dru Harrison, Chris Schlickenmeyer, and Rolf Aurness, to name a few.
Over the years, Bing has gone through many changes but one thing remains: The Bing brand has a rich and enduring history deeply rooted in the surf community, with its quality, craftsmanship, and innovation always unmatched. Carver is proud to announce its collaboration with Bing Surfboards and offer the iconic models Continental and Puck.
