Longboard and skateboard wheels are made from polyurethane. Depending on the intended use and desired riding characteristics, one can choose the diameter, hardness, core position, lip shape, and color. The hardness level of a wheel is determined using a Type A durometer and ranges from 73a to 101a. The rule of thumb is: the lower the value before the "a," the softer the wheel.
